Reasons I read the BIBLE. #3
To BE ONE with God.
John 17:20-21 KJV
“Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may BE ONE; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may BE ONE in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”
Jesus prayed for us that we would believe through the word of the Apostles which has been written for our understanding (Eph 3:3–4). He then stated the reason, that we all may BE ONE in God and in Christ as they are one.
If we’re not reading then we’re unable to find that unity in Christ.
“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
When we READ and STUDY we can all be on the same sheet.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
That’s why I read the Bible. To BE ONE with God, Jesus, and the church.
Let’s read the bible through in 2023
