Would it surprise you that Jesus told some folks, “Do Not Think.” He wasn’t telling folks to pursue ignorance, rather it was about wrong thinking.
Jesus was addressing the root of folk’s wrong thinking; it stemmed from their ignorance about what has been revealed in scripture leading to errors in thought & actions. Here are a few examples…
“Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil” (Matthew 5:17). The first-century Jewish leaders viewed Jesus as a rebel against the law of Moses. Their thinking was wrong.
“Do not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword” (Matthew 10:34). Folks then, and still today, wrongly think that the Messiah’s role is something it is not. Jesus emphatically states that following Him will divide even close relationships. Paul would warn Timothy that those who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus would face persecution (2Tim 3:12).
“Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust” (John 5:45). The error thinking of that time gave some a false sense of security, but it missed what the Old Testament was declaring (Deut 18:18-19). Being in opposition to Jesus put them in opposition to Moses, the one in whom they placed their trust. John spoke similarly addressing their thoughts of security (as seen in a lack of repentance) based on genealogical connection to Abraham. “Do not say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham” (Matthew 3:9; cf. Luke 13:3, 5).
The epistles also address the issue of wrong thinking. Some were thinking about men higher than they ought, and thinking too highly of themselves! (Romans 12:3; 1Corinthians 3:18; 4:6;). It’s clear that our thinking needs to be tested with scripture to avoid Wrong Thinking.
Maybe our thinking stinks because of the information we’re inputting. You’ve heard the old saying, “garbage in garbage out.” Our culture is being overwhelmed with ideas, propaganda, and false information from every direction. Any person with a smart phone and internet connection can blast out any opinion about anything without any concern for whether it’s true or not. It’s especially dangerous when people spout error about spiritual themes. Jesus addressed this once with those who thought there was no resurrection from the dead. He identified the source of their Wrong Thinking. “Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29).
The truth sets us free from such error (John 8:31-32). God’s word is truth (John 17:17). Reading and studying God’s word equips us and shields us from error and builds up our minds in faith to think and speak aright (Romans 12:2; Proverbs 15:2). Not only do we need to test every spirit, “because many false prophets are gone out into the world” (1John 4:1; 1Thess 5:21), but we also need to test our own selves. “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? –unless indeed you are disqualified” (2Corinthians 13:5).
The advice of the ancients is still sound today. Let us search the scriptures daily to find out if these things being spoken are so (Acts 17:11).

1 Corinthians 11:1-16…Why Must Men Not Wear A Veil Or Head Covering And Why Must Women Wear A Veil Or Head Covering Whenever They Pray? What Are The Main Points? They are all the doctrines, teachings, traditions and ordinances from GOD. [Verse 2]The man is to not wear a veil or head covering and a woman is to wear a veil or head covering because of the Creation Order and GODS Headship Authority Order or following the proper chain of Command from GOD. [Verse 3]Every man is to pray or prophesy with his head Uncovered or Unveiled in order to Honor our LORD and CHRIST, our HOLY SPIRIT and GOD our Heavenly FATHER. [Verse 4]Every woman is to pray or prophesy with her head Veiled or her head covered in order to Honor GOD and man. [Verse 5]It is Shameful and Dishonorable for every woman to have short hair or shorn or a shaved head and to pray to our LORD and GOD with her head Unveiled or uncovered. [Verse 6]Every man indeed ought not to cover or veil his head whenever he prays, because he is the image and glory of GOD. [Verse 7]Every woman must veil or cover her head, because she is the glory of the man [Verse 7] and the woman is of the man or she originally originated from man. [Verse 8]Every woman must wear a veil or covering whenever she prays, because the woman was created for the man. [Verse 9]Every woman ought to have authority on her head by wearing a veil or a removable head covering as a Symbol or a Sign of a woman being in Submission to GOD’S Authority and man. [Verse 10]Every woman must wear a veil or a head covering, Because of the Angels. [Verse 10]A woman must wear a veil or head covering because it is her Propriety in Worship. [Verse 13] [Verses 1 Corinthians 11:1-16 & 1 Corinthians 14:26-40.]Wearing a veil or head covering is Using Proper Judgment…Judge for yourselves; is it right that a woman pray to GOD unveiled? No! It is Not right for a woman to pray to GOD with her head Unveiled or Uncovered…Period! [Verse 13]Nature’s Teaching…even Nature itself teaches you that if man has long hair, then it is a Shame to him. So in the same line of reasoning then if a woman has Short Hair then wouldn’t her short hair also be a Shame or Shameful to her? Also did our GOD ever say that medium hair length was acceptable and honorable for a woman? [Verse 14][Also, Luke 12:7 and Matthew 10:30, GOD Knows the Number of Hairs on each person’s head. Luke 12:7 But the very Hairs of your head are All Numbered. Matthew 10:30 But the very Hairs of your head are All Numbered.]All women should have Long Hair, because her Long Hair is a glory to her and Long Hair is given to her for A covering (or another head covering). [Verse 15]Every woman is Required to have Two (2) Head Coverings. Long Hair all the time, for this is her natural covering and a Veil or a removable head covering, and she Only needs to wear it whenever she Prays to GOD or Prophesies. Whenever a woman is reading the book of Prophecies or rather the Holy Bible, then should her head be Veiled? Should a man have his head covered whenever he reads from the Holy Bible? Something to think about. The wearing of the required veil or head covering is a commandment from GOD. [Verses 1-16]*GOD, the Apostles and all the churches of GOD have no such custom of women praying or prophesying to GOD with their heads Unveiled and they have no such custom of men praying or prophesying to GOD with their heads veiled or covered. [Verse 16]
